Each day, the number of refugees from Venezuela and other countries increases, who look for assistance by the Fraternidade – International Humanitarian Federation. The institution has been helping in the purchase of return tickets to Venezuela, for critic cases of refugees who need to return for different reasons, such as health, family, crimes and political prisons.
Many refugees receive food in the CRI – Center of Reference to the Immigrant, to take to their Family in Venezuela.
The State Government of Roraima has signed a decree of emergency to obtain more help from the Federal Government of Brazil for the issue of the refugees.
To Colonel Amaral, of the Civil Defense of the city of Boa Vista, involved with the work of the CRI, the objective of the new actions is to optimize the Center, to study alternatives so that more people may be assisted and to improve the attendance. “We need to help those who intend to return to their country. It is evident that when we detect a humanitarian crisis, with sick and hungry people, we need to give attention to these people for them to be treated with at least the minimal dignity with which a human being needs to be treated”, said Colonel Amaral.
The health assistance continue, with the reception to the most complicated cases, due to the precarious conditions of life and hygiene.
Organization of the list of volunteers in the CRI, with the objective of identifying and organizing the responsibilities of each one.
