Diary of Humanitarian Roraima Mission – Jan 1

Sunday, January 1st

The group of missionaries visits the CRI – Center of Reference to the Immigrant in the morning, and detects that 80 percent used alcoholic drinks in the turn of the year.

As an instruction of the general commander of the Civil Defense of Roraima, the group of missionaries left the place, leaving an amount of food that is sufficient for the Indigenous refugees to spend the day.

The group returned to the Nucleus-of-Light of Figueira in Roraima and conducted a work of prayer. Tomorrow the missionaries will return to the CRI to accompany the situation. In spite of some difficulties, the team has perceived many signs of progress.

“The work at the beginning is not easy. But, as the days pass, they see our work, our attitude at service, and in this manner another quality in the relationship with the refugees is formed. In one week we have seen that the relationship with them has become deeper and more internal. In this sense, the mission is having success because we perceive that many have changed their behavior and participated more in the group tasks”, said Nicolás, a missionary of the Fraternidade – International Humanitarian Federation.
