Diary of Humanitarian Roraima Mission – Nov 08

Tuesday, the 8th

A part of the group goes to the city of Pacaraima, about 200 kilometers from Boa Vista, capital of the State of Roraima, Brazil. Pacaraima is on the border with Venezuela, and is the main entrance door of the refugees to Brazil.

It was observed that many refugees sleep and take showers on the streets. A great part has no conditions of following the path of immigration and stays in the city.

The Group makes donation of fruits and other food.

The Missionaries participate in a meeting promoted by the Pastoral of the Catholic Church with sectors of the Government, which are directly connected to the situation of the refugees. The proposal of the meeting was to present a “Letter of Commitment” to the authorities of the State and Federal Government, in order for them to make a commitment with the issue of the refugees.

A contact was made with the Network-of-Light of Santa Helena de Uairén, in Venezuela, to program specific future actions in that country.

Another part of the group stayed in the city of Boa Vista in a work of prayer.
