According to the general manager of the Fraternity –Humanitarian Missions (FIHM), Friar Luciano, by designating a humanitarian worker as the focal point of the Hub, the initial commitment becomes: “ to support, encourage and participate, whenever possible or relevant, in Hub invitations, events and activities, as well as work guided by the needs and voices of communities displaced and/or affected by crises, promoting diversity and equality in the global political dialogue.”

Also included in the commitments of the members of the Hub is the sharing of technical knowledge, research, facts and information on lessons learned, successes and promising practices, case studies, political approaches and the results of programs that support preparation and reinforce education in responses to emergencies.

Friar Luciano emphasizes that the actions and the experience of the Fraternity – Humanitarian Missions (FIHM), based on the direct development of humanitarian service and institutional relations guided by cooperation and dialogue to ensure the dignity of human life, especially that of children, adolescents and young people who experience emergency situations and humanitarian crises, were the reasons for which the organization was invited to participate as a member of the Geneva Global Hub for Education in Emergencies.

The intention is to deepen the ties of cooperation for operating within the sphere of Education in Emergencies, bringing challenges, lessons learned and good practices to light which emerge in field interventions, so the Humanitarian Sector and the network of Education in Emergencies are able to keep what is pertinent and necessary for families affected by crises in their work guidelines and negotiations.

Since the confirmation of the participation of the Fraternity – Humanitarian Missions (FIHM) as a member of the Hub, humanitarian workers have participated in the activities developed, interacting with the Hub Strategic and Work Planning process, to better visualize ways of participating and of collaboration.
