On Saturday, 5, early in the morning, in the Nucleus-of-Light<\/a> of Figueira in Roraima, the missionaries watched the live transmission via internet of the first day of the Marathon of Mercy, held in the Marian Center<\/a> of Figueira.<\/p>\n

Arrival of a new collaborator from the Fraternidade \u2013 International Humanitarian Federation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Pirilampos Group conducted playful activities and games, served snacks to the children and made a donation of clothes and toys.<\/p>\n

Distribution of wheat flour to the Indigenous families in the CRI \u2013 Center of Reference for the immigrant.<\/p>\n

Sunday, 6, was a day of cleaning of the House of Saint Joseph, of organization of donations and of watching the transmission of the second day of the Marathon of Mercy.<\/p>\n

Meeting in the Fire Brigade Headquarters<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

On Monday, 7, in the morning, a meeting was held in the Fire Brigade Headquarters with representatives of Civil Defense, the Fraternidade, the UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) and the Secretariat of Work and Social Welfare (Setrabes). The themes were the way of working of the military policepersons that take care of the shelter and the possibility of offering another kind of security for the place.<\/p>\n

Hiring<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In the meeting, it was informed that the Federal Government funds under the care of Setrabes will be used for the hiring of psychologist, social assistants, anthropologists, socio-educators and coordinators for the shelters in Boa Vista and in Pacaraima. It was estimated that the process of hiring will last for about three months.<\/p>\n

Some Indigenous families which were staying near the little school were relocated.<\/p>\n

Nucleus-of-Light of Figueira in Roraima<\/strong><\/h3>\n

At night, a meeting was held in the Nucleus-of-Light of Figueira in Roraima, with representatives of the Nucleus-of-Light, of the Network-of-Light, of the monastery and missionaries, to deal with subjects that concern the Nucleus.<\/p>\n

Escape from Hospital<\/strong><\/h3>\n

On Tuesday, 8, the Civil Police went to the shelter searching for a mother who escaped the children\u2019s hospital with her son who had been interned with health problems and who should undergo a surgery. The mother and child were not found.<\/p>\n

Interchange in artisanship<\/strong><\/h3>\n

A missionary accompanied the Indigenous Chiefs at a meeting of the National Indigenous Foundation (Funai). The institution is intermediating the process of interaction of the Warao Indigenous people with the Brazilian Indigenous people in the issue of artisanship, fostering information interchange and incentive for the production and sales.<\/p>\n

Machines resumed the earthwork in the external area of the shelter, after rainy days.<\/p>\n

\nOn Wednesday, 9, the activities at the little school with children and youths continued.<\/p>\n

In the afternoon, the rehearsal of the choir of the Nucleus-of-Light of Figueira in Roraima took place, followed by the meeting of updating of the Roraima Mission.<\/p>\n

Health<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Sesai of the Dsei Yanomami in the shelter<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

For several days, actions of health were held in the shelter, such as the attendances conducted by a dermatologist doctor, who is a member of the Network-of-Light of Roraima, and simple health attendances made by members of the monastery.<\/p>\n

Aids<\/b><\/h3>\n

On Wednesday, 9, the missionaries accompanied three seropositive Indigenous persons to hospital for consultation and for fetching medicines for a three-month treatment.<\/p>\n

The Special Secretariat of Indigenous Health (Sesai) of the Yanomami Special Sanitary Indigenous District (Dsei) provided care in the CRI with a doctor and nursery team and made quick tests for detection of AIDS, syphilis and hepatitis B and C. Two cases of HIV positive were detected.<\/p>\n

Artisanship<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Indigenous women conducted daily artisanship activities with the making of beads, collars and wrist-bands.<\/p>\n

Donations<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Several donations were made, including the one of foods, pans and kitchen utensils made by the Mormons, the donation of vegetables made by the Mesa Brasil (Brazil Table) Program of the Social Service of Commerce (Sesc), and the donation of double bed and of a refrigerator.<\/p>\n

An industrial stove was donated by a member of the Social Pastoral of Brasilia.<\/p>\n

Donations of food (vegetables and greens) were raised at supermarkets of the region, while clothes and food were donated to the Association of the Venezuelans of Brazil.<\/p>\n

The Amazonia TV, of the Globo TV broadcasting company, was in the shelter and captured images.<\/p>\n

Rede TV also captured images in the CRI.<\/p>\n
