September 25 to October 1, Monday to Sunday<\/b><\/h3>\n

On Monday, 25, the Missionaries of the Fraternidade \u2013 International Humanitarian Federation<\/strong> \u2013 split into two working groups to conduct the tasks of the day. One group went to the CRI \u2013 Center of Reference for the Immigrant. Another part went to the headquarters of the Fraternidade in Roraima to organize the stock of donations.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meeting about security<\/b><\/h3>\n

Still another group of missionaries participated in a meeting in the Federal Public Ministry with the presence of representatives of Civil Defense of Roraima, of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), of the Military Police of Roraima and of the Attorney General in Roraima. The topic was security in the CRI.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the meeting, it was decided that the Fire Brigade of Boa Vista and the UNHCR will provide the maintenance of the gate of the shelter so that it may remain closed during the night. Also control of entrance and leaving of persons will be adopted, which will have the support of the Fraternidade. The Military Police will reinforce the vigilance with the use of equipment and the presence of police persons all day long.<\/span><\/p>\n

Inner regulations<\/b><\/h3>\n

During the meeting, the internal regiment of the shelter was discussed. It determines the maximum \u00a0capacity of 372 people, including 254 Indigenous people and 128 non-Indigenous people. Among other norms discussed, were: the time of closing the gate (from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m.), the prohibition of exit of minors without the company of those responsible for them, and the time of permanence of the immigrants in the shelter (three months for the Indigenous people and two months for non-Indigenous).<\/span><\/p>\n

Meeting about the labor situation<\/b><\/h3>\n

The Fraternidade also participated in a meeting at the Labor Public Ministry about the issue of the labor situation of the Venezuelan immigrants in Roraima. The meeting had the \u00a0presence of representatives of the civil society, of the International Labor Organization (ILO) and members of the Peace Mission of the Center of Migrations and Human Rights (CMDH).<\/span><\/p>\n

Donations of bananas<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Donations<\/b><\/h3>\n

A donation of greens and bananas was received from the Mesa Brasil Program (Brazil Table Program) of the SESC (Commerce Social Service).<\/span><\/p>\n

People from the city of Boa Vista donated food items directly in the CRI.<\/span><\/p>\n

Discussion Workshop<\/h3>\n

On Tuesday, 26, representatives of the Fraternidade participated in the Discussion Workshop \u201cIndigenous displacements in Venezuela and in Brazil \u2013 Exchange of Knowledge\u201d, at the Roraima Federal University (UFRR). The event touched on topics related to the Warao Indigenous people and had the participation of anthropologists, members of the UNHCR, and of the Attorneys-General of the Federal District and of Roraima. During the event, the Indigenous people presented a typical dance in the external area of the UFRR.<\/span><\/p>\n

On Wednesday, 27, a delegation with representatives of the International Labor Organization (ILO), of the Labor Public Ministry (MPT) and of the Peace Mission visited the shelter to check the conditions of the place.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the late morning, the shelter received the visit of a team formed by the Attorneys-General of the Federal District and of Roraima, the UNHCR and anthropologists from Brasilia and from Venezuela. The group talked with the Indigenous women to learn about their needs.<\/span><\/p>\n

A team of doctors and nurses of the Special Indigenous Health Secretary (Sesai) came to the shelter and conducted health attendance.<\/span><\/p>\n

On Thursday, 28, personal hygiene kits were handed to the immigrants in the shelter.<\/span><\/p>\n

A team of the Health Ministry of Brasilia came to the CRI and made a survey about the situation of the place.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bakery group<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

On Friday morning, 29, two Indigenous immigrants supported the works in the bakery of the Integrated Center of Attention to the Disabled Person in Boa Vista. <\/span><\/p>\n

A repair was made in the feminine toilet of the shelter, which was flooded due to a water leakage. The entrance gate of cars and pedestrians of the shelter was also repaired.<\/span><\/p>\n

Administrative office<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a>In the office of the Fraternity in Roraima,\u00a0the administrative tasks continued, with the making of spreadsheets and general organization. Also the making of shelves continued, which will be utilized to help accommodate the donations.<\/span><\/p>\n

At night, missionaries of the Fraternidade accompanied an Indigenous child to hospital who had chickenpox and high fever.<\/span><\/p>\n

On Saturday, 30, a team composed by a doctor and a nurse of the Network-of-Light<\/a> came to the CRI and conducted health attendance. Two priests who are doctors offered health assistance.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the afternoon, the group participated in the activities of the Choir, in the Nucleus-of-Light<\/a> of Figueira in Roraima.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meeting of the Mission<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

On Sunday, 1, two missionaries of the Fraternidade were on a shift in the CRI in the morning, and other two in the afternoon.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the office of the Fraternity in Roraima, a meeting of the Roraima board was held, composed by missionaries of the Fraternidade, where matters of the Roraima Mission were analyzed.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the late afternoon, the Meeting of the Mission in the Nucleus-of-Light of Figueira in Roraima was held, with the presence of missionaries, collaborators and members of the monastery. During the meeting, was made the distribution of tasks and the updating of information about the Roraima Mission.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nMethodist Church

Children embarking for the Methodist Church<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

During three days in the week, the Methodist Church of Boa Vista conducted activities for the immigrants in the shelter.<\/span><\/p>\n

Monday morning, 25, about 50 children and youths ages 7 to 17 participated in an action in the Methodist Church. The group participated in recreational activities, received medical assistance and food.<\/span><\/p>\n

On Tuesday, it was the turn of 22 women of the shelter to participate in activities at the Church. They practiced artisanship, received medical assistance, food, hygiene kits, sandals and towels.<\/span><\/p>\n

On Wednesday, 27, thirty two youths participated in games and recreation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Press<\/b><\/h3>\n

Press professionals visited the CRI during two days in the week.<\/span><\/p>\n

On Monday, 25, a team of the Newspaper Folha de Boa Vista came to the shelter and conducted reports about the cases of chickenpox that took place there.<\/span><\/p>\n

On Wednesday, 27, a team of the Bandeirantes TV of Roraima and a French reporter came to the CRI and conducted reports.<\/span><\/p>\n
