{"id":144861,"date":"2022-09-02T08:40:43","date_gmt":"2022-09-02T11:40:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.missoeshumanitarias.org\/ccfi-promotes-an-exchange-on-agroforestry-for-the-pemon-taurepang-indigenous-peoples\/"},"modified":"2022-09-11T09:00:43","modified_gmt":"2022-09-11T12:00:43","slug":"ccfi-promotes-an-exchange-on-agroforestry-for-the-pemon-taurepang-indigenous-peoples","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.missoeshumanitarias.org\/en\/ccfi-promotes-an-exchange-on-agroforestry-for-the-pemon-taurepang-indigenous-peoples\/","title":{"rendered":"CCFI promotes an exchange on Agroforestry for the Pemon-Taurepang indigenous peoples"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><b>Pemon-Taurepang<\/b><\/p>\n\n<p>Coming from cross-border communities that occupy territories between Brazil &amp; Venezuela, the Pemon-Taurepang indigenous peoples came to the city of Boa Vista, Roraima, and later became organized, forming the Indigenous Immigrants Association in Roraima (Amir).<\/p>\n\n<p>Entrepreneurship, music and agroecology are the three main axes activities of this tribe of indigenous entrepreneurs, who went in search of new partners for the development projects of their communities.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-a-parceria-com-a-fraternidade-humanitaria-ffhi\"><b>The partnership with the Humanitarian Fraternity (FIHF)<\/b><\/h3>\n\n<p>For this reason, they made contact with the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.missoeshumanitarias.org\/en\/ccfi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IndigenousCultural and Training Centre (CCFI),<\/a>\u00a0which is managed by the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fraterinternacional.org\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00a0Fraternity \u2013International Humanitarian Federation (FIHF),<\/a>\u00a0which offers indigenous immigrants in Roraima a path in their search for Lasting Solutions and Livelihoods.<\/p>\n\n<p>At the beginning of June, the humanitarian aid volunteers present at the Roraima Mission visited the Taurepang communities to support Amir in the presentation of projects, including the idea of self-sustainability for these communities.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"750\" data-id=\"144763\" src=\"https:\/\/www.missoeshumanitarias.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Indigena_pemon_Agrofloresta_CCFI_FFHI_7.jpg\" alt=\"Agroforestry for the Pemon-Taurepang Indigenous peoples\" class=\"wp-image-144763\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.missoeshumanitarias.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Indigena_pemon_Agrofloresta_CCFI_FFHI_7.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.missoeshumanitarias.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Indigena_pemon_Agrofloresta_CCFI_FFHI_7-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.missoeshumanitarias.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Indigena_pemon_Agrofloresta_CCFI_FFHI_7-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" data-id=\"144759\" src=\"https:\/\/www.missoeshumanitarias.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Indigena_pemon_Agrofloresta_CCFI_FFHI_6.jpg\" alt=\"Agroforestry for the Pemon-Taurepang Indigenous peoples\" class=\"wp-image-144759\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.missoeshumanitarias.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Indigena_pemon_Agrofloresta_CCFI_FFHI_6.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.missoeshumanitarias.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Indigena_pemon_Agrofloresta_CCFI_FFHI_6-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.missoeshumanitarias.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Indigena_pemon_Agrofloresta_CCFI_FFHI_6-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n<p>\u201cSince the beginning, the Pemon indigenous people have shown us that besides preserving their culture, language and customs, they seek to progress and bring development to their communities\u201d, said the humanitarian aid volunteer, Imer, who has been accompanying them.<\/p>\n\n<p>Also present in the indigenous assistance is Friar Thomas, a monk of the Grace Mercy Order, who explains: \u201cWithin this plan of theirs of developing the communities, the subject of agroforestry came up.
