Visit to Puerto Barreto, an indigenous community of 30 families located in the outskirts of Presidente Franco.

As happens in the other settlements of the region, its inhabitants survive amidst all kinds of precariousness: in a ceded terrain, without the possibility of developing cultivations for profit, only little amounts to feed themselves. They do not receive food help nor clothes, the access to health services is very limited and they end up forced to recycle the trash of the nearby cities to buy what they can.

At the request of the Shaman of the community, the group decides to help the building of the ‘opy’ (sacred house of prayer and healing). The task will begin next Friday.

Skin and respiratory diseases constitute most medical services. Many consultations with children and pregnant women.
