During the first day of 2018, the activities of the missionaries continued focusing health attendance of the population of the city of Rio Casca, in the region known as Zona da Mata, state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. affected by the serious floods that took place at the beginning of last December, which devastated the whole region. In collaboration with the team of the local health center, the group of Fraternidade – International Humanitarian Federation, provided 15 medical consultations, 15 dental services, 12 psychological consultations, besides the application of bandages.

“The support we are receiving from the health center is excellent. This is facilitating our task a lot. I came ready to work in precarious conditions, but I found an organized dentist’s office and even a very efficient assistant”, said the dentist Ana Beatriz, who attended patients from 4 to 80 years old.

Register

“The naturalness with which everything is flowing surprises, how everyone collaborates, the attention they offer to us and the interest that everyone show to preserve the cleanness in the health center. With the quantity of mud that there is in the streets, the floor of the place gets dirty very easily and so they placed a broom at the entrance to keep the place always clean”, said Tissianie, a member of the missionary group.
The volunteer also informed that the population is cooperating spontaneously to organize a register of the victims and approach the health center to give their personal data, place where they currently live and their most urgent needs.

Two missionaries paid the first visit of evaluation to a house affected to begin the planning of another front of help: cooperation in tasks of cleaning and rebuilding.
