Nepal HUMANITARIAN Mission

Nepal MissionDate: October 2011
Place: Kathmandu, Nepal

For the purpose of supporting the assistance to the poorest, developed by the Missionaries of Charity of Mother Teresa of Calcutta, humanitarian workers of the Fraternity – Humanitarian Federation (FIHF) travelled to the region after a very large earthquake.

The humanitarian assistance activities were concentrated in aid institutions in the city of Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. This mission worked as an opening for the service that the Fraternity – Humanitarian Federation (FIHF) would start to provide in all their other missions from that point on, turning humanitarian aid into one of its pillars.

ACTIVITIES PERFORMED

  • Assistance in an asylum for 250 elderly.
  • Assistance to children in a local hospital specialized in childhood cancer.
  • Play and recreational activities and various works in an orphanage.
