The most recent data on the flow of more than 4 million refugees that have left Venezuela up until June of this year can now be found on a new webpage on internet. Part of the Regional Platform of Interagency Coordination R4V, the page is inserted in a regional site that details the response of the United Nations Organization (UN), in partnership with entities of the civil service, addressing the Venezuelan migratory flow to various countries, among which is Brazil.
The Brazilian webpage of the R4V Platform has the objective of strengthening the Welcome Operation, a humanitarian response put together by the government of Brazil, the UN, and entities of the civil service. The new tool details the coordinated work among agencies of the United Nations and partnership organizations, in support of the Brazilian taskforce. The published data is validated or provided by the Brazilian government and the more than twenty institutions that make up the R4V Platform, among them Fraternidade – International Humanitarian Federation (FIHF).
Information on the number of refugees, immigrants, requests for refuge still pending, and the number of Venezuelans that have already obtained residence visas in Brazil are available on the webpage. Documents, monitoring reports, guidance on the Brazilian context, and news from the UN and the institutions involved in the humanitarian assistance to refugees are also available.
The regional website of the R4V Platform provides data of all the countries affected by the flow of Venezuelan refugees. In order to respond to the consequences of the crisis in Venezuela, the Brazilian UN foresees an investment of U$S 146 million. Of that total, 53% was obtained through donations of countries such as the United States, Japan, Brazil, and the European Union.
