In a meeting of the Committee of Support to the Refugees from Venezuela, the Missionaries of the Fraternidade – International Humanitarian Federation, have programmed possible joint actions with the Fire Brigade starting next week. The cooperation would be in the sanitary sector (dentistry and dermatology, main problems of the refugees). The firepersons will offer a vehicle with dental equipment, food and medicines.
In a contact with the Diocese of Boa Vista, Roraima, the latter offered a stock of half a ton of rice and 200 kg of beans, which will be utilized according to the needs.
The collecting of donations (food, hygiene products and others) continues.
A route with the data of the institutions and places willing to make donations has been made.
“After we informed the situation of the refugees from Venezuela in Boa Vista and our work for them, the owner of an industry of food, who at first was reluctant in collaborating, opened his heart and offered to donate 30 kilos of rice every 15 days”, said Wanderley Freitas, a member of the humanitarian mission.
One group transports food for the Venezuelan who survive at the traffic lights, cleaning vehicles windowpanes or selling pops, coconut water and other titbits.
