Greece Mission – the Fraternidade resumes contact with Brazilian Embassy

During the week, the missionaries continued the support to House 1 of the Missionaries of Charity of Mother Teresa of Calcutta, in the city of Athens. They helped the preparation of meals that are served daily and of 200 cupcakes to serve at breakfast. They conducted other supporting activities, such as maintenance tasks (repair of benches in the refectory used by the refugees), selection of clothes to be given to the masculine prison, ironing of the clothes used by the Sisters at church and help in the shopping.

On Friday, 5, the missionaries participated in the celebration of a mass at the church of Saint Joseph, located in the same place of the House 1 of the Sisters of Charity. The Mass was dedicated to refugees and poor people who are welcomed by the Sisters.

On Monday and Wednesday, the group helped in the distribution of clothes and footwear for the refugees at the Caritas Hellas institution.

At the church of San Theodore, in the town of Anávissos, the help consisted in the organization and separation of donations that will be offered at the Christmas bazaar, which will raise money to be used in the purchase of food for poor people.

The Fraternidade – International Humanitarian Federation – resumes the contact with the Brazilian Embassy in Greece. Now with the registration in the country, the institution will be included by the embassy in the list of humanitarian help organizations that serve in Greece. An introduction of the Fraternidade to the Brazilian community that lives in the country, about 4 thousand people, will also be scheduled.
