Indigenous people finish manicure and pedicure course

A group of 25 indigenous people from the Wayú, Warao, Taurepang and Kariña ethnic groups received certification in Manicure and Pedicure Techniques at the Indigenous Cultural and Training Centre (CCFI) in Boa Vista, Roraima.

The course was offered by the Fraternity – International Humanitarian Federation (FIHF), through CCFI, in collaboration with World Vision and Inspire Rebeca. The training took place from March 13th to 24th, in a face-to-face format, and included theoretical and practical elements, covering both beginners in the area and people with previous experience.

In addition to techniques for beautifying, caring for and treating the clients’ hands and feet and nail polishing and decorating techniques, participants were also taught various techniques for organizing the workspace, biosafety standards, personal presentation, customer service, planning and pricing.

Brazilian market

Brazil has a market with high growth in the manicure and pedicure field and it is in constant innovation. It presents a great cost/benefit ratio, with flexible schedules, good profitability and the possibility of employability or building your own clientele.

According to instructor Keylla Alves, “this profession is an excellent option for those who don’t like to stick to a strict schedule and want to have a flexible schedule that can be practiced anywhere in the world”.

“The people who participated in the training were very motivated and interested in learning; they are curious and attentive,” highlighted the humanitarian server Lucía.

Apprentice Kerly Romero really enjoyed participating in the training, as she learned a new trade. “I believe that this course will help me a lot, because I will be able to earn my money and I will even have the possibility of opening my own business in the future”.

Certification – a diferencial

The instructor also reinforced an important differential of the course, which is the certification, valid throughout Brazil, which can be used for various purposes, such as proving skills and knowledge in the area, improving professional practice and increasing the credibility of the professional for the clientele.
