Several women. Different generations. Warao, E’ñepa, Kariña, no matter the ethnicity, they have in common the pride of being indigenous. Strong and courageous, they carry with them the history of their people, their customs, their cultures.

“To be indigenous, to be a Warao is what I am most proud of,” says the indigenous Alejandrina, and insists on the importance “of demonstrating to the brothers who are ashamed to be Warao,” the strength of their culture: “we have to demonstrate (…) our customs, what we live, which we have to pass on from generation to generation (…).”
