The Feet and the Path of the Refugees

“Walker, there is no path. A path is made by walking.”

This phrase of the Spanish poet Antonio Machado starts the video “The Feet and the walking of the refugees,” which emphasizes the symbolism of the feet, showing the walking of the victims of the humanitarian crisis in Venezuela, who reach the different borders of the countries of Latin America.

Leaving their homes, dreams, families and life projects behind, they walk toward the unknown, searching for a shelter and to supply of their basic needs such as food, medications, a roof, besides psychological and spiritual support.

The objective is to show one of the diverse precarious realities of Venezuelan immigrants, seeking to have society reflect upon this and  feel motivated to participate in improving the present for refugees and others served in the missions.

The audiovisual work was recorded in the Roraima and Manaus Missions, regions where the Fraternity – International Humanitarian Federation (FIHF) is active through missionary work in support of the integration and development of the immigrants and refugees.
