The Manager will speak at an international event on the participation of Fraternity – International Humanitarian Missions (FIHM) in response to the Venezuelan crisis
Friar Luciano, manager of Fraternity – International Humanitarian Missions (FIHM), will participate on the 26th, at 9 am (GMT), in the Webinar“Towards Greater Responsibility for Affected People: Six stories of adaptation and anticipation” (Six stories of adaptation and anticipation).
In this panel, part of the global event “Humanitarian Networks and Partnerships Weeks (HNPW) 2021”, launched in Geneva on April 19, and running until May 7, humanitarian actors from six different organizations will present their “stories of adaptation and anticipation” in the post-2020 humanitarian scenario.
Friar Luciano will present the actions developed by the organization in the humanitarian response to the Venezuelan crisis in the five shelters under his management in Roraima and in the Manaus Transit Housing (ATM). This presentation will be broadcast in Spanish, with simultaneous translation into English.
With all the planetary changes that have taken place since 2020 as a result of the pandemic, accountability to those affected – as an active commitment of those populations in responsibility for sustainable solutions – has never been more important. The 2020 events have affected the efforts of Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) and aid more broadly around the world. Humanitarian actors point to uncertainties and new challenges at every step, and the humanitarian sector is being forced to rethink, rework and adapt tried and tested ways of acting.
The Webinar is being conducted by Sphere Geneva in partnership with the CHS Alliance, Translators Without Borders (TWB), Humanitarian Quality Assurance Initiative (HQAI), Ground Truth Solutions (GTS) and World Vision International. After completing the six presentations, a dialogue with the public will be opened.
