The Angola Humanitarian Mission will restart its activities in April

Bringing continuity to the actions developed by the Fraternity – International Humanitarian Missions (FIHM) in 2022 in Angola, members of the organization re-engage with those activities in April of this year.

For 2023, the perspective is to continue with the work, including a new intervention sector – Livelihoods and Lasting Solutions, going deeper with the implementation, and reaching out to other provinces of the country.

According to Anderson Santiago, a humanitarian aid volunteer who is part of the team, “ the Fraternity – Humanitarian Missions (FIHM) will go on to develop projects in five Intervention Sectors: Education for Overcoming Trauma, Humanitarian Response for Disabled People, Humanitarian Training, Food and Nutritional Safety, Livelihoods and Lasting Solutions Sector.”

Anderson emphasizes that the difference in this stage of the Angola Humanitarian Mission will be the implementation of the Livelihoods and Lasting Solutions Sector, which will encourage training in Sewing, Maintenance, Baking, and the Production of Cleaning Materials, amongst several others, so that people, social organizations and communities achieve the necessary conditions for generating self-sufficiency, resilience and community participation, and in this way, people and groups are able to transform challenges into possibilities and opportunities for growth.

But the task depends on the joining of efforts; on the feet, arms, hands and hearts of those ready to collaborate and serve others.

“Throughout all these Years, none of the initiatives developed during the Angola Humanitarian Mission would have been possible without the collaboration of donors who supported the backing for the Mission”, highlights the humanitarian aid volunteer.

For Mother Teresa, a monk of the Grace Mercy Order and humanitarian aid volunteer, “all the donations that contribute to humanitarian missions taking place strengthen the ties of fraternity and engender quality of life and dignity. Humanitarian service only can be done with arms and hearts from far away and up close, each contributing as they can.”

In unity, we can transform many lives. Be a part of this story of love, care and solidarity!
