Diary of the Humanitarian Roraima Mission – November 6

Em frente a Catedral

In the morning, the group attends Mass in the Cathedral of Boa Vista City.

In the afternoon, they make food and do distribution for the refugees from Venezuela in the Fair of the “Passarão”, where a great part of the immigrants, both white and indigenous, spend the night.

Health assistance procedures were also conducted, especially concerning skin diseases.

The Missionaries try to establish contact with the different ethnic groups and to deepen the verification of the needs of each group. It has been detected that many do not want to let their situation of refugees become official, because they intend to stay for a few days, acquire food and money and then return to Venezuela.

This unstable situation makes it difficult to establish a definitive connection or a more prolonged sanitary and social conscious work with these groups.
